ABOUT HKUST(GZ)
香港科技大学（简称港科大）自1991年创立以来，秉持锐意创新、与时并进、博大包容、坚持原创的理念，在教育、科研和知识转移等方面均取得长足进展。短短三十年间，港科大于全球高校排名节节上升，被公认为全球首屈一指的年轻学府。
香港科技大学(广州)（简称港科大(广州)）是由广州大学和香港科技大学，在广州市人民政府的大力支持下，合作举办的具有独立法人资格的内地与香港合作办学机构。
港科大（广州）坐落于广州市南沙区，目前正处于校园建设阶段，计划于2022年投入使用。
截至2020年，港科大已经在清水湾校园率先通过广州“先导计划”招收了两批约三百人的研究型硕士与博士生，在广州校园建成之前，先对广州校园将要采用的跨学科培养模式进行探索。港科大（广州）在首阶段将聚焦研究生培养，待时机成熟后再展开本科招生工作。广州校园投入使用前，学生将在香港清水湾校园录取和注册，待新校园启用后搬到广州继续完成学业。无论学生在哪个校园进行学习，只要符合毕业资格，都会获得“香港科技大学”的学位。
港科大一体，双校互补
事实上，港科大对于广州校园的定位是与清水湾校园并行的，采用“港科大一体，双校园互补”的大学框架，所有研究设施、机构与课程均相互开放，共享多项办公行政服务，以最大限度促进彼此紧密合作。通过充分发挥清水湾校园的协同优势，遵循科大杰出的营运模式与适应内地关于合作办学的要求，广州校园力求把港科大的教育与科研提升至更高水平。
枢纽与学域设置
在“港科大一体，双校互补”的理念下，两校具备互补的学术框架，提供错位发展的学位课程。
港科大（广州）采取“传统学科保留在清水湾校园，广州校园主要着力交叉学科”的布局，既充分利用清水湾校园的已有优势，又避免了两个校园学科重合降低效率。结合学术研究的规律、地区与时代发展的需求，港科大（广州）在学科设立上采用了全新的组织形式，主要包括了系统、功能、信息、社会四大学术枢纽（hub），下设十六个学域（thrust），不同枢纽、学域之间按照设计将会紧密交流，以最大限度地促进创新。一言以蔽之：“功能枢纽与信息枢纽环环相扣，为系统枢纽提供基础，为社会枢纽提供支援”。

学域介绍
物联网是中国“互联网+”行动计划的一个重点发展领域。港科大（广州）辖下之信息枢纽所建立的物联网学域依托于香港科技大学在无线通信与网络领域世界领先的教学和科研优势，进一步推动中国成为物联网领域的全球领导者。通过开办物联网哲学硕士及哲学博士课程，物联网学域致力成为全球知名的物联网研究中心，并推进物联网的基础研究及相关领域的应用和发展。
使命
物联网学域采用交叉学科教学法，协助学生以跨界知识革故鼎新及探索崭新研究前沿领域，由此发展出由物联网技术主导的未来智能城市和数字化社会。

申请条件
哲学硕士MPhil：
需在入学前获得本科学位，专业成绩优良。
哲学博士PhD：
需在入学前获得本科学位，专业成绩优异；或有至少1年全职/2年兼职的研究生水平工作经验。
英语语言要求：
若申请者1）不以英语为母语，或2）不在以英语为教学语言的院校获得学士学位，则需满足下列任一英语考试要求：
TOEFL-iBT: 80
TOEFL-pBT: 550
TOEFL-Revised paper-delivered test: 60 (total scores）
IELTS: Overall score: 6.5 and All sub-score: 5.5

招生流程
Admission Procedure
为了方便优秀学子申报香港科技大学（广州）物联网学域 (IoT) 的博士/硕士研究生，物联网学域开放提前批次申请。
提前招生(Early admission)：诚邀条件突出的博士/硕士生申请者 （成绩排名前百分之十或已获得所在学校直博推荐免试资格的，英语水平优秀）。可提交简历，成绩单，英语考试成绩、相关排名证明（可选）至iott@ust.hk参与提前批次录取。通过筛选后，IoT导师会及时安排Zoom视频面试。九月中旬开始陆续为通过选拔的优秀申请者发放offers。
正式批招生(Regular admission)：正式批招生开始后，申请者可直接提交申请材料到港科大（广州）研究生招生网站申请: https://hkust-gz.edu.cn/admission。学校会通过正常招生筛选流程录取学生。
提前招生流程
8月2日：提前批报名开放
申请人可将相关文件提交至iott@ust.hk。
申请邮件主题格式必须为 "PhD/MPhil Early Admission + Name + 2022"。
9月3日：提前批报名截止
9月4日至月中：提前批招生面试
通过初选的学生将收到邀请参加提前招生面试，暂定为线上视频面试。具体面试时间和安排将于八月中下旬通过邀请邮件通知。
预计9月中旬后：陆续为通过面试的优秀申请者发放offers。未通过提前批的同学依旧可以通过第二阶段的正式批招生进行报名。
