和李燎聊聊天｜实验式ARTEDU艺术分享会/视频回放

通过多媒体装置和行为艺术，李燎质疑关于期待与现实的紧迫议题，反应了看似刻板和平凡的简单环境中的社会复杂性。例如与岳父的一次争论激发了李燎创作一部影像作品的灵感。争执中的矛盾极其自然地引导了作品的发展，展现了一种对艺术家而言举足轻重的复杂且真实的人际关系。

李燎最广为人知的创作《消费》（2012）是一件审视流水线劳动力与大众消费间的不均衡现象的装置作品。作品展示了艺术家在声名狼藉的电子产品生产商富士康工作一个月期间使用过的工作服、身份证件和iPad。这件作品在北京尤伦斯当代艺术中心和纽约新美术馆展出，并入选上海外滩美术馆的HUGO BOSS亚洲艺术大奖展览。《纽约时报》和《纽约客》也报导了这件作品。

"Art is Vacuum" started in 2013, it originated from a quarrel between Li Liao and his father-in-law, “you’re living in a vacuum...we’re too common.” Li set up a trap that violated his own perception on the fact that art alters reality, where he was allowed to follow the instructions step by step and observed his own awkward condition in this absurd game. Li Liao’s daughter was born about half a year later, and became a symbol of this game. Without letting her step into the game, Lihanded the symbolic phrase to her - "art is vacuum", and this would be the  rst sentence shecould speak after her birth.

李燎用一年零八个月的时间教女儿说她人生的第一句话“艺术是真空”

在《艺术是真空》（1、2、3）系列中，李燎以“岳父”为对象，探讨了家庭空间中父权关系的循环往复（在此例中的“岳父-李燎”、“李燎-女儿”），以及由辈分、钱财、名望等共构而成的权力角力与潜移默化，并隐含地讨论了当代艺术从业者面对社会大众时的失语症状。在以“老板”为线索的章节中，李燎充当妻子的“军师”，以一套反规训的策略抵制老板的调教，警惕和调侃了现代管理技术对人的异化以及当代生活中越发模糊的公私界限，却也在有意无意间滑向剥削“妻子”剩余价值的共谋边缘。与以上线索中采取的抵抗方式不同，李燎在“我”的章节中，识时务地主动顺应“中产生活”标准，通过戏仿一套由此（情绪）及彼（时间）、由表（练肌肉）及里（学英语）的全方位自我管理，周而复始、身体力行地实践如都市传说般的成功学。

或许，这正是做更好的李燎的两难境地：反抗越是激烈，行为却越似“从犯”，腹肌越是立体，身体却越发“扁平”。而对艺术家李燎来说，这一系列“无效”社会生产还需在展览场域中获得某种意义上的“有效”呈现，而向往着的中产经济基础则有赖于艺术作品在画廊情境中的最终兑换。

2012 年 10 月 9 号李燎通过龙华的招聘市场应聘进入深圳富士康(龙华园区)当一名流水线工人，任职在 iDSBG 事业群 SMT 制造课，岗位 - 焊前 AOI, 工作 45 天直到用自己生活之余的工资购买一部该部门的产 品(iPad mini Wi-Fi 16GB ),11 月 23 号离职出厂。

On October 9, 2012, Li Liao applied a job on the assembly line through a job market. The factory he worked was known for producing parts for Apple products. It is the Foxconn Plant (Longhua compus) in Shenzhen, in the section of “Prior Welding A. O. I”. After Li Liao worked for 45 days, he used his salaries aparted from the cost of maintain a basic standard of living to buy a 16 GB Wi-Fi version Mini Ipad, which it was produced from his factory. Li Liao left the company on November 23, 2012.

李燎租了一间有基本生活家居的民房(两室一厅 )，把门锁取掉，让其成为一个 开放的公共空间 , 为期一个月。门口、楼下阳台 / 窗外墙壁分别做指示性灯箱和 广告牌，表明这个空间是一个月内 24 小时免费开放的公共空间。

空间规则:

1 请遵守中华人民民主共和国法律法规，在公共空间内行 使你应有的权力。
2 请勿破坏偷窃空间内的财物。
3 空间内一切设施均免费使用，所有权归开设方。
4 民众具有免费在空间举办活动的权力(关于活动限制请参照第一条)

Li Liao rented a standard two-bedroom condo for a month, and removed the lock on the entrance door to make this a public space. There was a billboard with the sign of “24 hours available” placed in front of the door and the balcony.

General Rules:
1.Obey the Laws and Regulations of the People’s Republic of China, while exercising individual rights with regard in the public space. 2.Please do not destroy, damage, or steal any property that belonged to the space.
3.All facilities in the space are open to public, the rights remained reserved for owner of the space.
4.Participants allowed to organize activities in the space without any charges. Activity limitations refer to rule number one. 

夏家英 Xia Jiaying

夏家英是李燎的母亲，自他离家读书后，他们基本没一起生活过，这段时间他的母亲来深圳帮他带小孩，生活上总是诸事不顺，每天唠叨着要回家，于是李燎开始每天拍摄她不眨眼的样子，即每次一眨眼就关闭记录， 直到她回家。影像是李燎把每次拍的她母亲不眨眼的素材连在一起。这样就有了一个一直不眨眼的人，循环 播放。

Xia Jiaying is Li Liao’s mother’s name. His Mother and him hasn’t lived together since Li Liao left home for school. However, after the birth of Li Liao’s child, his mother came to Shenzhen and became the babysitter. Their life together was not ideal, Xia Jiaying nagged about going back her home on a daily basis. In this video work, Li Liao captured all her unblinking moments. Every time she blinked her eyes, he turned off the camera, until the day she left. Therefore, in the videothere is a character who has not blinked an eye for one second and played in an in nite loop.

李燎根据他前女友的描述，在扬子江论坛臆想复制一个前女友与别人外遇的场景，关于这个场景是他从未见到， 完全依据前女友的口述来想象的。

Li Liao re-created an imaginary scene in Yangtze River Space based on his former girl friend’s confession on her affair. For Li Liao, this is entirely his imagination, which he has never seen where the affair happened.

李燎在湖北省武汉市武昌区光谷步行街入口，闭眼等待一位网上募集来的实施者给自己一记耳光，然后实施 者离开 , 李燎持续保持闭眼的状态，直到实施者离开，结束。

On the Pedestrian Street in Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, Li Liao closed his eyes, waited for a slap in the face from the perpetrator who volunteered online. After the slap, Li Liao continued to maintain his eyes closed until the perpetrator left.
