由原国务院侨务办公室发起，以从事绘画等平面艺术创作的海外优秀华人艺术家为主要邀请对象的“全球华人艺术展”，作为“文化中国”系列活动之一已成功举办两届。从第三届起，作为中央统战部的常设展览活动，在中央统战部十局直接指导下，由何香凝美术馆承担并作为本馆的重要项目之一进行筹划和执行。何香凝美术馆所在的深圳是最受海内外移民关注的迁移目的地，亦是全球化在中国、在新时代的缩影。我们希望借此展览项目，以艺术为主线，来呈现在全球化浪潮下活跃着的华人艺术家们的新视角，通过项目的持续推进，更好地为海外华人艺术家与国内的交流提供专业支持。

自亚太经合组织成立的30年来，亚太地区的经济、贸易、技术合作不断深化，取得长足进展，作为统战部文化建设窗口的何香凝美术馆在本届展览中，从传统华侨聚居地中国东南沿海出发，将目光聚集在亚太地区的华人艺术家身上，希望为亚太地区的艺术文化交流合作做出贡献。共有来自14个国家和地区的17位艺术家应邀参展。文化碰撞、融合以及身份认同等元素频繁出现在华人艺术家的作品当中，观众通过他们的眼睛观察别国或地区的社会风貌及自然风光，或看回中国本土文化及传统习俗。结合每位参展艺术家的展出作品和个人口述史，提供深入理解海外华人艺术家的生存和创作状态的视角。
在此，谨向为本次展览提供了帮助和支持的各界人士表示衷心的感谢。

Sponsored by the former Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, the Global Chinese Art Exhibition, which mainly invites overseas outstanding Chinese artists engaged in graphic art creation such as painting, has been a success for two sessions as part of the series activities "Cultural China". As the regular exhibition of the United Front Work Departmeny of CPC Central Committee and under the guidance of the 10th Bureau of the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee, from the third exhibition, the event will be undertaken, planned and organized by He Xiangning Art Museum as one of its important projects. Shenzhen, which is home to He Xiangning Art Museum, is a migration destination in which immigrants at home and abroad are most interested. Besides, it is also an epitome of globalization in China and in the new era. Through this art-focused event, we hope to present the new perspectives of Chinese artists who are playing an active role in the tide of globalization and to better provide professional support for the exchanges between overseas Chinese artists and China.

Within the 30 years after the establishment of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the collaboration of economy, trade and technology in Asia-Pacific region continuously deppens. Being the cultural development window of the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee, He Xiangning Art Museum hope the exhibition can contribute to the art exchange of Asia-Pacific region. Under theme of " Dispersion and Convergence", this year’s event is aimed at presenting the extended memories of Chinese culture in the minds of Chinese artists living overseas, which can be also viewed as a keen observation and judgment on the new trend of globalization appearing in the past two years. Appreciating the overseas Chinese art from the global history perspective, we can see that it is self-evidently characterized by "spatial dispersion and cultural convergence ".

Starting from the coastal areas in Southeast China, where many overseas Chinese live together, this year’s event focuses on Chinese artists in the Asia-Pacific region. A total of 17 artists from 14 countries and regions are invited to the exhibition. Elements such as cultural collision, integration and identity frequently appear in the works of Chinese artists, through which audiences observe the social features and natural scenery of other countries or regions with their eyes or turn back to cast an eye over Chinese local culture and traditional customs. Based on the exhibited works and narration by each participant, this event provides the audience with a perspective to deeply understand the living status of overseas Chinese artists as well as how they create their works.
