Visiting Scholar Program (Year 2021)

OVERVIEW

FDDI（Fudan Development Institute）welcomes international scholars to apply for its Visiting Scholar Program. Scholars will interact with Fudan faculty and conduct their independent research at FDDI. 

FDDI welcomes academics and researchers in the social sciences who meet the following requirements:

Eligibility

· Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and be 55 years of age or under.

· Applicants should be faculty members or researchers at universities or research institutes  outside the Chinese mainland.

· Research interests should be in one of the following fields: political science, sociology, economics, environment, finance, and other social sciences. 

· Preference is given to policy-oriented research. 

· Applicants must be able to visit 30-90 days during the 2021 Spring Semester (February 22nd- July 3rd, 2021) or Fall Semester (September, 2021-January, 2022).

3.High-resolution picture of the applicant (JPEG or PNG)

4.Research proposal (minimum of 2 pages) 

5.One recommendation letter from an expert in the applicant’s field or the director at the applicant’s institution

Privileges

FDDI will provide a subsidy package including:

· International round-trip air fare will be reimbursed.

· Stipend: 1000 RMB/ day * (Tax included)

· Visiting Scholars enjoy full access to libraries and electronic resources at Fudan University. 

· FDDI provides each Visiting Scholar with free office space accessible (except for University holidays). 

· Visiting Scholars are welcome to attend lectures and public events on the University campus, including those organized by the FDDI. 

· FDDI offers platforms and publication opportunities in academic journals and Chinese media.

· Visiting scholars have free field trip opportunities.

Responsibility

· Visiting Scholars conduct their research independently on one of the following topics:

1.Development Logic of Emerging Economies

2.Impact of Technology Change on Society

3.Technology-driven Industrial Change

4.Comparative Studies of Cyber Governance

5.The Role of Culture in Human Development

6.Youth Studies

· All Visiting Scholars are to submit a final research report. Visiting Scholars are required to work at FDDI office at least two days per week. 

· Visiting scholars should make at least one presentation on his/her research topic. 

· Visiting Scholars are required to provide at least one article on China studies for FDDI publications. They can either submit their own works or recommend articles from others. 

*Selected reports, articles, and essays that Visiting Scholars submit to the FDDI will be recommended to FDDI publishing partners. Please ensure that the reports, articles, and essays submitted do not cause any copyright conflicts.

复旦发展研究院·博享访问学者项目（2021年）

复旦发展研究院“博享访问学者项目”长期向海外学者开放申请，以加强学术研究及合作，促进中外学者交流沟通。

申请条件

1、该项目向以下人士开放：在中国大陆以外的大学和研究机构有正式职务的学者、资深专家或行业精英。申请人应具备良好的研究能力，年龄在55岁以下，非中国籍。

2、访问学者应从事政治、社会、经济、金融、环境等社会科学领域的研究。

3、从事政策导向研究的学者将优先考虑。

4、访问学者能够在2021年春季学期(2021年2月22日-7月3日)或秋季学期（2021年9月-2022年1月）安排为期30-90天的访问时间。

申请材料

1、复旦发展研究院“博享访问学者”申请表（Application Form点击“阅读原文”下载）；

2、个人简历，包括教育与研究经历、已发表学术成果；

3、个人高清照片一张；

4、一份访问期间的研究计划（英文，不少于2 页）；

5、一封由国内外相关领域专家或所在研究机构负责人撰写的推荐信。

申请流程

工作条件

1、复旦发展研究院将为访问学者提供如下补贴：

* 机票：报销国际往返经济舱机票（不超过两次转机）

* 酬金：1000 元人民币/ 天（税前）

2、访问学者驻校期间，可使用复旦大学的图书馆和电子资源；

3、复旦发展研究院向访问学者提供研究室（假期除外）；

4、访问学者在校期间可参加所有复旦大学的公开讲座、会议和论坛等活动；

5、复旦发展研究院为访问学者提供文章发表平台和机会，包括学术论文发表和媒体评论发表；

6、复旦发展研究院将为有意向的访问学者提供一次田野调查机会。

工作职责

1、访问学者应就以下方向进行选题，并在访问期间独立进行研究工作；

·  新兴经济体的发展逻辑

·  科技变革的社会影响

·  技术驱动的产业变革

·  网络治理模式比较研究

·  人类发展中的文化影响

·  青年研究

2、访问学者应在访学结束时提供一篇论文作为访学期间研究成果；

3、访问学者每周至少两个工作日在研究室工作；

4、访问学者应积极参加复旦发展研究院组织的研讨活动，并就其研究进行至少一次讲座；

5、访问学者应为复旦发展研究院出版物提供稿源，可以自己撰写，也可以进行推荐。

＊ 访问学者向复旦发展研究院提交的文章，将被甄选并推荐发表。访问学者须保证其所提交或推荐的文章不会引起任何版权纠纷。
