China launched a Long March-2D rocket to place 41 satellites in orbit on Thursday, setting a domestic record for the most satellites lifted in one go.

6月15日，我国使用长征二号丁运载火箭，成功将41颗卫星发射升空，卫星顺利进入预定轨道，创下中国航天发射一箭多星新纪录。

The rocket blasted off at 1:30 p.m. (Beijing Time) at the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern China and soon took the satellites, including the Jilin-1 Gaofen 06A, into preset orbit.

13时30分，长征二号丁运载火箭在太原卫星发射中心，成功将吉林一号高分06A星等41颗卫星成功送入预定轨道。

These satellites will be used for commercial remote sensing services and verification of related technologies, said the launch site.

据悉，这批卫星主要用于提供商业遥感服务及相关技术验证。

This was the 476th flight mission of the Long March rocket series.

这次任务是长征系列运载火箭的第476次飞行。

Huang Yongyu, a Chinese artist renowned for his creative woodblock prints, paintings and literary works, passed away at the age of 99 on Tuesday, according to an obituary released by the Central Academy of Fine Arts on Wednesday.

中央美术学院14日发布讣告称，以木刻、绘画和文学著称的艺术家黄永玉于6月13日逝世，享年99岁。

Huang was born in 1924 in Changde County, central China's Hunan Province, and served as director of the department of print-making at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and vice chairman of the China Artists Association.

黄永玉1924年出生于湖南省常德县。他曾任中央美术学院版画系主任、中国美术家协会副主席。

Huang made tremendous achievements in various sectors of the arts and gained an international reputation as a pioneer in the reform of Chinese painting.

黄永玉在多个艺术领域取得了巨大成就，并作为中国画改革的先驱而享有国际声誉。

The 29th Beijing International Book Fair kicked off on Thursday, with approximately 900 overseas exhibitors accounting for 60 percent of participants.

第29届北京国际图书博览会6月15日开幕。海外展商约900家，占比60%。

Around 1,500 publishing houses and institutions from 56 countries and regions will bring more than 200,000 titles to this year's fair that runs through to June 18. Another thousand exhibitors will be attending the event through an online platform.

本届图博会将持续至6月18日。参展国家和地区达56个，20多万种中外图书亮相。1500家中外出版及相关机构线下参展，1000家通过线上平台参展。

For the first time, the BIBF will launch a section specially for online literature and games, with immersive, virtual reading, displaying and trading spaces providing interactive experiences with cutting-edge technologies like VR and MR.

本届图博会首次设置“网络出版馆”，推出网络文学和游戏专区，打造沉浸式虚拟阅读、展示、交易空间，通过VR、MR等前沿技术提供互动体验。

At least 78 people have died and hundreds more are feared missing in the deadliest refugee shipwreck off Greece this year.

The victims, nearly all of them men from Afghanistan and Pakistan, drowned when the large trawler they were travelling in capsized off the southern Peloponnese.

It was unclear how many passengers were missing from the vessel, which had set out from eastern Libya and was heading for Italy.

By nightfall, Greece’s caretaker government had declared three days of national mourning to mark the tragedy.

“There has been a dramatic rise in the death count, which is climbing by the hour,” said one Greek official. “Speculation is rife that as many as 600 people were onboard but that has not been confirmed. The ship is under the water. It has sunk.”

About 104 passengers had been rescued as of Wednesday afternoon, he said.
